Welcome...

Organized on December 29, 2007, Bryan-Keyth Wilson & Kimberley Yancy teamed up with fellow colleagues in the Faith Based Entertainment Industry to create the Christian Theatrical Alliance. Never before has an organization been established to connect all those that have the same goal.

The mission of CTA is established to connect all those that have the same goal of edification through the mediums of faith based entertainment. CTA seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live Faith Based/ Inspirational Theatre, Dance, Music, Film, Art, and Literary Works as an essential component of our society with the sole purpose of Kingdom Building. CTA will negotiate wages and working conditions and provide a wide range of benefits for its members.

CTA wants to meet with Writers (authors, scriptwriters), Directors, Choreographers, Vocalists, Dancers, Producers, Filmmakers, Actors, Actresses, Agents/Entertainment, Carpenters, Electricians and Sound & Lighting Technicians.

Meeting Minutes

Networking/Mixer Agenda Minutes

December 29, 2007

Time: 9AM

Location: The Breakfast Klub, Houston, TX

Meeting was called to order at 9:45AM

Opening Prayer was given by Mikasenoja. She then gave a welcome to all of the attendees. Those in attendance were:

Bryan-Keyth Wilson-Writer, Director, Choreographer & Performer, AEA

Kim Yancy-Author, Motivational Speaker

ReShonda Tate Billingsley-Best Selling Author

Christopher Marlon- Los Angles Filmmaker

Curtis Von-Director & Actor

DC Hatwell- Gospel Comedian

Michelle Harden- Marketing and P.R.

Lee Waddell- Student & Stage Manager

Gia Rideaux- Singer, Actress

Jaylyn Simmons- Administrative Liaison

Cheryl Stevenson-Loan Officer, Grant Writer, Business Solutions

Shawnre' Tieuel- Tieuel Legacy Films

All attendees then went around the table and gave introductions and let their affiliations be known. Bryan-Keyth started off the meeting with the idea behind the formation of CTA. All attendees were given an informational packet with the ideals and vision. The floor was open for discussion. Curtis Von concurred with Bryan-Keyth and the vision and stated that there is a lack of unity within the Christian/ Inspirational Theatrical mediums.

Bryan-Keyth open the floor with a questions about the true identity of the genre and the name. ReShonda Tate Billingsley mentioned that marketing was key in the success of CTA. The Meeting attendees were given note cards to write questions and prospective name ideas to call the genre. Mikasenoja then talked about the cultivating of talent and resources. Many agreed that it is hard to find qualified individuals to aid in producing a play or event. And by cultivating the talent pool and resources this will give all CTA members a heads up in contacting such individuals.

As the meeting progressed the question arose, how can one join CTA (How will we go about the application process?) There needs to be a bar set in each medium upon joining. At that time we delegated duties to the attendees. Being that CTA will govern many mediums in the Inspirational and Faith Based Entertainment Market we assigned duties to those artists that have credibility and experience in their craft to come up with a skeleton layout of qualifications. They are as follows:

Bryan-Keyth Wilson & Curtis Von- Theatrical

Mikasenoja & ReShonda Tate Billingsley- Literary

Lee Waddell & JD Issacks- Technicians

DC Hartwell- Christian Stand-up Comedy

Shawnre’ Tieuel & Chris LaMark- Film

As time progress we will add the other genres to the list as well as recruit members to set guidelines.

Mikasenoja then discussed the Membership Incentives (Membership has its privileges). We plan to partner with different business and create a pool of vendors to give discounts specifically to our members. And with joining there are membership dues. We decided to set dues at $100.00 yearly. The dues will go towards different business solutions as well as preparation for the CTA Alva Awards. There will be an official launce party sometime in February, dates and times are TBA. The Alva Award nomination committee will be selected and announced at the launch party.
